Robert Rouleau

The Newbury Boston is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Rouleau to Hotel Manager at the storied Boston hotel.

In his new role, Rouleau will be responsible for overseeing and executing operations for The Newbury Boston, an AAA Five-Diamond designated hotel. Managed by Highgate, the iconic destination features 286 guest rooms, The Street Bar, and Contessa, an ambitious 4,000 square foot glass rooftop restaurant. In his new position, Rouleau will manage operations across all areas of the hotel, oversee guest satisfaction and hotel activation, maximize opportunities for associate development and training and represent the hotel in the community, all under the direction of the hotel's Managing Director, Carlos Bueno.

Rouleau joined The Newbury in 2021 as the Director of Food & Beverage with more than 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Prior to joining The Newbury, he served as the Director of Food & Beverage at The Beverly Hills Hotel & Bungalows, where he led the food and beverage division, which included 656 seats of a la carte dining, 26,000 square feet of banquet space and in-room dining for the 210 guest room luxury property, while overseeing 250 food and beverage employees. Prior to this, Rouleau held several other positions at The Beverly Hills Hotel including Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, Catering Sales; Director of Restaurants; Assistant Director of Food and Beverage, F&B Operations; Director of The Cabana Café and Pool; Bar Nineteen12 Department Head; and Beverage Manager.

Rouleau started his career in the food and beverage industry as a bartender in 2003. In 2005, he became Food and Beverage Operations Supervisor at The Westin Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego, CA and went on to become Bar Manager at Chef Deborah Scott's Indigo Grill in 2008.

Rouleau holds a BA in Communication from Westfield State University in Westfield, Massachusetts.
