PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering Singapore, an iconic lifestyle luxury hotel situated at the gateway to the central business district, proudly introduces Kung Teong Wah as its new General Manager, effective 1 November 2023. With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, Teong Wah brings a wealth of experience and a strategic vision to propel the hotel-in-a-garden into a new era of excellence.
As an industry veteran, Teong Wah has played pivotal roles in shaping the hospitality landscape in Asia and Singapore. In his most recent position as General Manager at PARKROYAL on Beach Road, he showcased adept leadership skills, elevating the business operations of the newly revitalized upscale hotel located in the culturally rich precinct of Kampong Glam. Under his guidance, the hotel also achieved notable accolades, including the Singapore Hotel Sustainability Award 2023 presented by Singapore Hotel Association, as well as the Singapore's Leading Conference Hotel 2023 by World Travel Awards.
Prior to that, Teong Wah held the position of Cluster General Manager with Millennium Hotels and Resorts, where he significantly enhanced the overall performance of multiple properties. His extensive experience in the hospitality industry extends to various leadership roles within the IHG Hotels & Resorts Group across diverse countries, including China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Cambodia. Over the course of his career, Teong Wah has also assumed other notable positions, including serving as a Board Member of e2i, the Employment & Employability Institute, as Chairman of ITE Hospitality Advisory Board, and as President of Food and Beverage Management Association. He has actively participated in hospitality industry panel discussions offering insights on topics such as the "Hotel of the Future: Transformation Tech Roadmap" at the Singapore Tourism Board and presenting on "Data in the Future of Hospitality" at the STB Tourism Data Leadership Conference 2023.
