Placemakr, a company specializing in mixed-use hospitality and residential properties, has appointed Ryan Rickabaugh as its inaugural Chief Operating Officer (COO). This move coincides with the company's expansion, highlighted by the upcoming launch of The Maverick in San Antonio, a unique property under the Placemakr brand.

As COO, Rickabaugh is responsible for overseeing the commercial and property operations of the organization. His appointment follows a significant tenure in the retail sector, where he gained over a decade of experience with prominent brands such as L'oreal, Kate Spade, and Bonobos. Notably, he held the role of VP of omnichannel services & guideshops at Bonobos, managing a 500-person team and directing the brand's retail and distribution strategy. In his new role at Placemakr, Rickabaugh aims to apply his expertise in operations strategy from the retail world to enhance Placemakr's comprehensive service offerings.

The Maverick, set to be a first-of-its-kind property in San Antonio, exemplifies Placemakr's innovative approach, blending residential and hotel features within a single multifamily building. This project, in collaboration with AREA Real Estate, marks Placemakr's foray into the Texas market.

Located near the iconic Riverwalk and The Alamo in San Antonio, The Maverick is a historic building offering 86 fully-furnished apartments for short, medium, and long-term stays. These apartments will feature amenities like kitchens and on-floor laundry. Additional luxuries include a rooftop penthouse for private events, guest lounges, and a planned new gym. The Maverick is set to open for bookings by the end of the year, with the first guests expected in early 2024.
