Russ Gibbons has been appointed General Manager at Terramor Outdoor Resort
Terramor Outdoor Resort Bar Harbor, a refined retreat near Acadia National Park and an owned and operated brand of Kampgrounds of America, Inc. (KOA), has appointed Russ Gibbons as its new General Manager. With a unique blend of corporate financial expertise and hands-on hospitality experience, Gibbons brings a guest-first leadership style that aligns seamlessly with Terramor's commitment to elevated outdoor hospitality near Acadia National Park.
Gibbons joins Terramor after holding general manager roles at several high-performing KOA properties across the country, including Cape Hatteras/Outer Banks KOA Resort, Tucson/Lazydays KOA Resort, and Lake Conroe KOA Holiday. During his tenure at Lake Conroe, he led the property to achieve the largest year-over-year increase in Net Promoter Score across the KOA system. In 2024, he was honored with a Leadership Award at the KOA Convention in recognition of his operational excellence and people-first approach.
Beyond operational insight, Gibbons brings a uniquely personal journey to Terramor. After a 26-year career at Verizon, where he held roles as Budget Manager and Internal Auditor, he and his wife embraced life on the road as full-time RVers and seasonal 'Workampers.' That journey led him to KOA, where he quickly advanced into senior leadership roles within the Owned & Operated Assets (OAK) division.
For Gibbons, the move to Terramor represents a return to Bar Harbor—where he previously worked with a local outfitter—and a unique opportunity to blend his financial acumen with a passion for high-touch outdoor hospitality.
