Jawad (JD) Al-Khatib

The Eliza Jane, one of New Orleans' most distinctive boutique hotels, has appointed Jawad (JD) Al-Khatib as Director of Food and Beverage. In his new role, Al-Khatib will oversee the hotel's signature outlets Couvant and The Press Room as well as banquet and catering operations. He will lead daily service, menu innovation, and guest programming designed to reflect the city's vibrant culinary spirit.

Al-Khatib joins The Eliza Jane with eight years of hospitality experience and a strong background in restaurant and hotel leadership. Most recently, he served as Food and Beverage General Manager at Marriott in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. His earlier career includes leadership positions at acclaimed restaurants and hotels in Connecticut and North Carolina, where he developed a reputation for cultivating talent and creating welcoming, dynamic dining experiences.

Guests at The Eliza Jane can enjoy French-Southern cuisine at Couvant or relax with cocktails and light bites at The Press Room, both housed in a building that once served as a gunpowder company, bitters distillery, and the printing house of The Daily Picayune.
