Li Chen, based out of Los Angeles as a Vice President with HVS Dallas, has spent years working in established and emerging hotel markets in the American West and Southwest. Her catalog of assignments includes appraisals, market studies, and feasibility studies for hundreds of limited-, select-, and full-service hotels. A native of Shanghai, China, Li spent years working in hospitality roles in Asia and continues to work closely with Asian-American hotel owners, associations, and financial firms with ties to U.S. hotels.

Li is a Designated Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI). She has written several articles on hotel markets in California and international hospitality and tourism trends between the U.S. and China. She was interviewed by China Daily USA regarding the article of "Tourist influx propels hotel investment in U.S." Li has also presented on hotel market trends to the Taiwan Hotel and Motel Association of North America (THMANA). Li also served as guest speaker at the Collins College of Hospitality Management, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona; Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism Management Department, San Jose State University; and the Department of Tourism, FuDan University in Shanghai, China. Li has extensive hotel operations experience, including front-office and accounting work at the Renaissance LAX. She holds a master's degree in Hospitality from Michigan State University's Eli Broad College of Business.

Li was born and raised in Shanghai, China and has spent many years living, studying, and working in the United States, a background that has cultivated a fascination with Eastern and Western cultures. She continues to seek out new ways to combine her love of Asian and American culture.
