Hassan Djeebet is the academic coordinator of services, food and beverages for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in hospitality management at Les Roches Marbella. He is also responsible for the management and administration of the university food and beverage department, where he leads a team of 18 professionals with a budget of over half a million euros. With more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry and academia, Hassan is renowned for his experience and leadership in one of the most important areas of the industry as well as for his ability to impart knowledge and train new generations of hotel managers. Hassan has had ties with Les Roches Marbella since 1996, first as a teacher and administrator of the university’s restaurant, and later as the course manager for food and beverage operations, and as an expert in the development of academic programmes. His experience in the hospitality industry began in 1989 when he became the owner and manager of the Glenhaven Hotel in Blackpool, England. Two years later, he was accepted into the management development programme at the Combe Grove Manor Hotel and Country Club in Bath, England, where he held various positions including conference and banqueting manager and administrative manager. Hassan was the first manager to firmly place Combe Grove in the catering business. Hassan is a passionate wine lover, yet he considers himself to be more than just a great connoisseur, teacher, and admirer of the maestros of wine. His great pleasure is to introduce his students to the world of wine, the basic concepts of vineyards, and international grape varieties and guide their knowledge of tasting for wine appreciation. Hassan holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) and received the prestigious certification as a teacher in Certified Hospitality Education (CHE) in 2004. A British citizen, Hassan was born in Tangier, Morocco, and speaks English, Spanish, Arabic and French.
