LANSDALE, Pa.--Homewood Suites® by Hilton, the national brand of upscale all-suite, residential-style hotels targeting extended-stay travelers, today announced the opening of the 170-suite Homewood Suites by Hilton hotel located adjacent to Merck & Company's new training center and the West Point facility in Lansdale, Pa. The newly constructed hotel represents another addition to Homewood Suites by Hilton's growing roster of more than 100 hotels.

The Homewood Suites by Hilton Lansdale is owned and managed by an affiliate of Gulph Creek Hotels. This is the sixth hotel of the Wayne, Pennsylvania-based company, which owns and operates four Hilton Family of Hotels, including three Hampton Inn® hotels and one Hampton Inn & Suites® hotel, all in the Philadelphia area. Construction financing was provided by First Union Bank while permanent funding was supplied by Legg Mason Real Estate Services in Philadelphia.

Located at 1200 Pennbrook Parkway, the six-story property features 23 studio suites coupled with the brand's popular one- and two-bedroom suites. The Homewood Suites by Hilton Lansdale is part of a larger mixed-use development, Pennbrook Corporate Center, which is being developed by Progress Development.

"The need for upscale hotels that cater to guests staying for a few or more consecutive nights in Lansdale greatly exceeds the available supply," said Clarke Blynn, president of Gulph Creek Hotels. "Our new facility has been created specifically to meet the needs of travelers who stay at the hotel for an extended amount of time and who may require specialized services and amenities such as free local phone calls, free high-speed Internet access and a complimentary grocery shopping service.

The Homewood Suites by Hilton Lansdale offers residential-style suites with fully equipped kitchens and spacious sleeping and living areas that are large enough for work, study, entertaining or relaxing. Attractive guest amenities include a complimentary breakfast buffet in the hotel's hospitality center – the "Lodge," an evening manager's reception Monday through Thursday with a complimentary light meal and beverages, a 24-hour executive business center, exercise facilities and a 24-hour Suite Shop® convenience store. Additional hotel amenities include an outdoor pool, whirlpool, on-demand videos, exercise room, executive business center and 1,300 square feet of meeting space.
