ATLANTA | InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) [LON: IHG, NYSE: IHG (ADRs)], the world’s largest and most global hotel company, has named Christopher (Chris) Pfohl, vice president, business development, Western region.

Based in Los Angeles, Calif., and reporting to Kirk Kinsell, senior vice president, Americas franchising and business development, Pfohl will be the regional team leader responsible for development through acquisition, joint venture, management contract and franchise of the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts and Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts brands in the western U.S. states and western Canada.

Prior to this appointment, Pfohl served as the vice president of managed development for Hilton Hotel Corporation’s western region. In this position, Pfohl was responsible for the acquisition of management and franchise agreements for Conrad Hotels, Hilton Hotels and Doubletree Hotels. Pfohl has significant experience in operations and development having begun his career as a general manager and having had ownership in hotels. Pfohl has successfully executed strategic development plans that have produced over 30 management and franchise agreements during his tenure with Doubletree, Promus and Hilton Hotel Corporations.
