Millennium Hotels And Resorts Introduces Millennium Hotel Buffalo Airport
NEW YORK, NY -- Millennium Hotels and Resorts has announced a new addition to its collection of prestigious hotels in North America: the Millennium Hotel Buffalo Airport. Owned by Millennium's parent company, Millennium & Copthorne PLC since 1999, it was operated as the Four Points by Sheraton Buffalo Airport. As of April 28th, the property will commence a 1.5 million dollar upgrade and will be re-launched as the Millennium Hotel Buffalo Airport. It will be managed by Millennium Hotels and Resorts, which operates 13 hotels and resorts in major metropolitan areas, including New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.
The 300-room, full-service hotel in a suburb of Buffalo will commence the $1.5 million dollar renovation program in keeping with Millennium's standards but the hotel management stresses that the property will retain the character and appeal that have made it one of the Buffalo region's most successful hotels. "Our motto at Millennium Hotels and Resorts is "styles that vary, standards that don't,"" said Russ Papia, Director of Sales and Marketing. "Obviously, the outstanding location just three miles from the Buffalo-Niagara Airport won't change, and we believe that past guests and area residents as well as travel and meeting planners will be even more pleased with our hotel after the renovations."
The Millennium Buffalo's 300 rooms and suites feature all the latest amenities, including High Speed Internet, voice mail, a coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. The courtyard rooms offer balconies overlooking a serene tropical green setting. In addition to the fine accommodations, the hotel offers over 12,000-square feet of meeting space, making it particularly appealing to corporate groups and special events. Meeting facilities include a 6,300 square foot ballroom, nine flexible meeting rooms and a large indoor tropical courtyard with retractable domed ceilings. Other facilities include the highly regarded Waldens Restaurant serving Americana cuisine, popular Twigs Sports Lounge, a fitness facility with an all-season pool and an executive clubroom for business travelers. The hotel is adjacent to Walden Galleria, the largest and most upscale shopping mall in the region, and the New York Thruway, making it one of the most convenient and efficient properties in Buffalo.
Buffalo represents an important new market for Millennium Hotels and Resorts, which, since its founding in 2000, has rapidly established a strong network of properties in key business and leisure destinations in the United States. The region is undergoing rapid growth, in large part due to the establishment of new large-scale gaming resorts on both sides of the Canadian-US border. Along with substantial hotel development has come renewed interest in the region as a business center. The western New York economy has enjoyed expansion or improvements in several categories, including urban development, technology research, medical and educational facilities and the insurance industry. Millennium management expect to play a significant role in further developing the region, helping to raise awareness of Buffalo as an ideal choice as a business and leisure travel destination.
"With all the changes taking place in the Buffalo-Niagara Falls region, we look forward to joining with the community to do our part in promoting Buffalo as an attractive, value-added travel destination," said Diarmaid O'Sullivan, Director of Marketing, North America for Millennium Hotels and Resorts.
