Washington, DC | “Tour d’ ALIS – The Incredible Race Continues!” is the theme for the seventh installment of the Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS), scheduled for Jan. 28–30, 2008, at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles, Calif. The lodging industry’s premier investment conference, ALIS, is designed to address the unique needs of the hotel investment community and provide a central networking place for hotel executives, investors, lenders, developers, and professional financial advisors.

Co-hosted by the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) and the Burba Hotel Network (BHN), the two-and-a-half-day event features an extensive array of seminars and panels hosted by leading experts and investors discussing important trends and identifying new opportunities. Topics currently planned include: capital markets and inance, owner investments and asset management, development, acquisitions, management and franchising, vacation ownership, condo hotels, international opportunities, and diversity.

In addition, ALIS will honor various lodging industry luminaries and the outstanding transactions of the year; provide an opportunity for attendees to speak directly with top hotel financial lenders at the popular “ALIS Talks Money” (ATM) session; facilitate networking; and much more.

“The energy and optimism in the lodging investment community was evident at ALIS this past January—as the event attracted more than 2,000 delegates,” said BHN President and Conference Chairman Jim Burba. “This enthusiasm continued during the program planning meetings recently held in preparation for the 2008 program. Many of the ideas from the meetings are currently being distilled into what will become another innovative, timely, and thought-provoking program. This year’s theme, “Tour d’ ALIS – The Incredible Race Continues!” reflects the cycling atmosphere, and the positive mood of the industry,” added Burba.

Proceeds from ALIS benefit the educational, research, and training missions of the Educational Institute (EI) of the American Hotel & Lodging Education Foundation (AH&LEF), AH&LA’s not-for-profit affiliate.
