MCLEAN, Va. – Hilton Worldwide today announced a signing to add a new DoubleTree by Hilton hotel to its portfolio in Mexico. The company has signed a management agreement with Inmobiliaria Ugon SA de CV for a 132-room DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Celaya, Mexico. Expected to open in late 2015, the 9-story DoubleTree by Hilton Celaya will be 64 miles from the Guanajuato International Airport and 48 miles from the Queretaro Intercontinental Airport.

Located in the southeast of the state of Guanajuato, along the Pan-American Highway, Celaya forms part of Mexico’s main industrial corridor. The city owes its economic development to the manufacturing industry and its position in the middle of the triangle formed by the cities of Mexico, Monterrey and Guadalajara.

Danny Hughes, senior vice president, Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America, Hilton Worldwide said, “Our development efforts in Mexico stay strong and we’re thrilled to see the continued interest in the DoubleTree by Hilton brand. This remarkable, fast-growing country continues to offer great opportunities for the expansion efforts of the Hilton Worldwide portfolio. We look forward to welcoming visitors to DoubleTree by Hilton Celaya.”

The new guestrooms and suites at this new DoubleTree by Hilton hotel will feature the Sweet Dreams® by DoubleTree Sleep Experience beds, refreshing Crabtree & Evelyn Citron® bath and body products, HDTV flat screen television, in-room tea and coffee making service, spacious work desks with data ports, MP3-compatible clock radios, and wireless high-speed internet access.

Visitors will also enjoy two restaurants, as well as recreational facilities including a state-of-the-art fitness center outfitted with Precor equipment and an indoor swimming pool. For events and meetings, the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Celaya will provide more than 12,800 square feet of flexible function space as well as a complimentary 24-hour business center.

“We are excited to add this hotel to the DoubleTree by Hilton portfolio and expand our brand presence in Mexico,” said John Greenleaf, global head, DoubleTree by Hilton. “DoubleTree by Hilton is well-known for its outstanding service culture and with this new hotel, we’ll have a great opportunity to bring that experience to guests traveling to the Celaya area.”
