Best Western International NEW

Bangkok – Best Western International will showcase its rapid expansion in the Middle East at this year’s Arabian Travel Market (ATM 2014).

From May 5th to 8th, 2014, the hotel group’s senior executives will be on hand to meet with local travel trade partners and members of the media at booth number HC5165, at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Center.

And top of the agenda will be Best Western’s rapid expansion in Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

This year alone, the company intends to launch eight new hotels in Saudi Arabia, representing all three of its hotel products - classic BEST WESTERN, upscale BEST WESTERN and luxury BEST WESTERN PREMIER.

Building on its two existing properties in Al Khobar and Makkah, 2014 will see Best Western make its debut in multiple new Saudi Arabian cities, including Al Qassim, Al Ahsa, Jeddah, Dammam, Al Jubail, Hayel and Jizan. It will also return to the fast-expanding capital, Riyadh.

And the company is also planning to expand in Qatar. Having signed a major development agreement with Sphinex Hotels & Resorts last year, the first project will be launched in the third quarter of 2014.

Glenn de Souza, Best Western’s Vice President of International Operations for Asia & the Middle East, said ATM 2014 provides an ideal opportunity to update the industry on its regional developments.

“The Middle East is Best Western’s fastest growing region, and we are delighted to be returning to the ATM this year to showcase our expanded portfolio of hotels,” said Mr. de Souza.

“Since last year’s show we have grown rapidly, opening the first ever Best Western hotels in Kuwait and Makkah, and signing a major development agreement in Qatar. In the coming months we look forward to expanding our Middle Eastern footprint even further, especially in the Saudi Arabia,” Mr. de Souza added.

Best Western currently operates a portfolio of seven hotels in five Middle Eastern countries. And this collection will grow to at least 24 hotels in seven countries in the coming years.
