RLHC (NYSE:RLH) announced today the company has sold and franchised its Red Lion Hotel Pocatello in Idaho. The new owner plans to invest in property improvements within the next few months.

"We are proud to continue with the Red Lion name and its tradition of great service in this community," said Jabbar Dhaliwal, owner of the property. Dhaliwal added, he plans to purchase new furniture, high-definition TV's and triple-sheet bedding packages for the guest rooms within the next six months.

"This is the twelfth franchise deal we have closed this year and we have developed a strong pipeline to close out the last quarter," said Greg Mount, President and Chief Executive Officer of RLHC. "Five out of five of the hotels we have sold in 2014 have closed with franchise deals and a commitment by each of the owners to make significant capital improvements, allowing the properties to remain with the Red Lion branding."

The Red Lion Hotel Pocatello, 1555 Pocatello Creek Road, has 150 rooms, an indoor pool, a full-service restaurant and more than 14,000 square feet of meeting space. It is located just minutes from Idaho State University and the Museum of Clean. Known for its outdoor recreation, Pocatello has miles of trails for hiking, Nordic skiing and snowmobiling, in addition to two public 18-hole golf courses.
