2015 Rising Star Award Caribbean honored at CHRIS
ISHC and BHN Announce Christal Stubbs, British Colonial Hilton Nassau, as Winner
The International Society of Hospitality Consultants (ISHC) and Burba Hotel Network (BHN) presented Christal Stubbs with the 2015 Rising Star Award Caribbean at the Caribbean Hotel & Resort Investment Summit (CHRIS). As the Human Resources Director of the British Colonial Hilton Nassau, Stubbs has proven to be a dedicated and invaluable asset to the success of the hotel as well as an extremely effective leader within the Bahamian tourism industry. Stubbs works in a very competitive marketplace in Nassau and is responsible for recruiting, training, compliance, employee development and other vital duties, her management of which have earned her respect from peers and managers alike.

The nominee list in 2015 included numerous talented future leaders. When the judges reviewed the candidates and voted, Christal rose to the top, as she is truly an exceptional executive. With the unprecedented increase in hotel room supply in Nassau, the role of HR was probably never as important as it is now and Ms. Stubbs has truly shined," said Jim Burba, President, BHN.

The Rising Star Award was created in 2011 by the ISHC, in collaboration with BHN, to recognize emerging leadership talent in the Caribbean from the hospitality industry. Award criteria require that a nominee be 35 years and under, be currently working and living in the Caribbean and have a minimum of two of the most recent five years hospitality experience living and working in the Caribbean.
