HOSPA – the Association that provides unparalleled support for hospitality's Finance, Revenue Management and IT professionals with career development, networking and keeping up-dated with industry trends and developments – is delighted to invite applications for its popular annual HOSPA Career, and Future Career, Investment Development Scholarships, sponsored by BT.

Following on from the educational and networking success of last year's HOSPACE2015 prizes for scholarship winners, 11 HOSPA Career Investment Development Scholarships are up for grabs this year. This will allow the lucky winners to learn from, and be recognised by, senior members of the hospitality industry at HOSPA's highly acclaimed annual HOSPACE 2016 Conference and Exhibition on 10 November at the Sofitel London Heathrow, Terminal 5.

HOSPA is delighted that once again HIT Scotland (Hospitality Industry Trust Scotland) – whose mission is "assisting people to achieve their potential within Scottish hospitality" – is offering one HOSPA Career Development Scholarships of its own to Scotland's talented 30 year-olds or under on 21 October 2016, studying or working in hospitality finance, revenue management and IT.

"The HOSPA Career Development Scholarship offers a HIT Scotland scholar an unrivalled opportunity to help further their career," said David Cochrane, Chief Executive of HIT Scotland. "We are delighted to be working in collaboration with HOSPA for a second successive year. Both HIT Scotland and HOSPA share similar goals – namely, developing the emerging talent of our industry with the support of the leading experts in their chosen fields. Our HIT Scholar will learn from the best and this, in turn, will prove a boon to their businesses with new and innovative thinking and business practices."

For her part, HOSPA Chief Executive Jane Pendlebury said: "We are delighted that HIT Scotland is offering a HOSPA Career Development Scholarship of its own to attend HOSPACE 2016. It is a priority concern of both HIT Scotland and ourselves to attract talented young people from all corners of the UK into the profession."

In addition to the HOSPA scholarship offered by HIT Scotland, HOSPA is very pleased to announce 'Career Investment Development Scholarship' opportunities for five upcoming young people, 30 years old and under on 21 October 2016, working in hospitality finance, revenue management and IT; and 'Future Career Investment Development Scholarships' for five aspiring final-year hospitality students, who have excelled in their current studies, and are planning to start their hospitality industry careers in Autumn 2016. Candidates must be nominated accordingly by senior members of the industry and course leaders. (See Notes to Editors for entry criteria)

The 2016 HOSPA Scholarship Awards will afford the 11 lucky winners an unparalleled opportunity to be noticed and publicly recognised for their outstanding achievements in the work-place and the classroom. Their prizes will comprise a full day's attendance at HOSPACE 2016; places at HOSPA's Conference Gala Awards Dinner where their achievements will be recognised; and the chance to be individually featured in the Conference Edition of the monthly HOSPA journal, The Overview.

"We are greatly indebted to BT for their sponsorship," said Jane Pendlebury. "The HOSPA Career Development Scholarships provide a great career stepping-stone for networking with, whilst learning and gaining recognition from, current industry leaders in the rewarding key disciplines of hospitality finance, revenue management and IT. What is more, HOSPACE2016 will be the first time that the lucky scholarship winners and HOSPACE delegates will be able to benefit from the provision of hospitality marketing expertise, as HOSPA now works hand-in-hand with the Hotel Marketing Association (HMA) – with HOSPA membership now additionally encompassing HMA membership.

"It is also an invaluable opportunity for successful candidates to learn from the conference sessions, and participate in our education workshops on future business best practice. In the evening at the Conference Awards Dinner, they will be able to meet and gain inspiration from the newly crowned Hospitality Finance, Revenue Management and IT Professionals of the Year 2016.

"HOSPACE2016 is the largest and most prestigious annual gathering of like-minded hospitality professionals in the UK – providing information, education and inspiration that will leave a lasting impression on the 11 scholarship winners."

The closing date for nominations is 21 October 2016. All candidates will be notified before 28 October 2016.
