Resident Hotels is a specialist hotel operating company that manages two distinct brands: The Resident, positioned in the Upper Upscale segment, and four properties catering to the midscale market, formerly Sleeperz and CityRoomz, recently rebranded as Four Points Flex by Sheraton, located in Cardiff, Dundee, Edinburgh and Newcastle. Founded in 2006 and owned by Mactaggart Family & Partners, the company opened The Resident Edinburgh in Autumn 2024, marking the sixth addition to its Upper Upscale portfolio, which launched in 2020. Currently, there are six The Resident hotels located in Covent Garden, Kensington, Soho, Victoria, Liverpool and most recently, Edinburgh. Located in urban neighbourhoods, The Resident offers a home-like environment enhanced by personalised local recommendations from 'Resident Insiders.' The Resident Covent Garden is currently ranked as the #1 hotel in London on TripAdvisor, having won ‘Best Hotel in the UK’ in both 2022 and 2024. The Resident Liverpool is similarly recognised as the top hotel in Liverpool, with three of The Resident hotels ranking among the top 20 in the UK for 2024. Resident Hotels aims to expand its portfolio through management contracts and developments, targeting an additional 1,500 to 2,000 rooms, further strengthening its position in the hospitality market.
