Designed by Jean Nouvel, one of France's leading architects, The Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom became SO/ Vienna. This rebranding was preceded by a comprehensive facelift of the hotel's hall and 182 rooms and suites.
A masterpiece of 21st century architecture
On the outside, its monochrome touches of colour and its diamond-shaped roof, inspired by the city's famous Saint-Étienne cathedral, irresistibly catches the eye of passers-by.
Once you pass through the door, let yourself be carried away by the authentic and contemporary atmosphere of the hotel... A playful yet consciously rebellious interpretation of luxury! From walls to ceilings, colourful works of art succeed one another during your visit and come to life with Pipilotti Rist's video murals. To complete the whole, a majestic plant wall designed by Patrick Blanc acts as a living tableau in continuous flux.
Down to earth, head in the stars
At the heart of the SO/ Vienna: the "BAR/terre". Located on the ground floor, the elegant bar overlooks the Danube Canal. Enjoy a cocktail while letting your thoughts follow the watercourse.
On the 18th floor, the DAS LOFT stands like a glass roof among the buildings and offers you a panoramic view over the rooftops of the city. The Viennese restaurant offers you colourful cocktails that echo its kaleidoscopic light ceiling.
