Deehan began his career with Marriott in 2004 at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront in the front office and banquets departments before becoming a Performance Development Manager overseeing the Pacific Northwest region. He was most recently the Market Director of Human Resources for both the Seattle Marriott Redmond and the Seattle Marriott Waterfront. Deehan received his Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) from the Human Resources Certification Institute in 2014, and his Senior Certified Professional (SCP) from the Society of Human Resources Management in 2016. He received his bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Washington.
