The Wigwam, a historic and award-winning luxury resort nestled in the Sonoran Desert, announces today the appointment of Jarell Tucker as its new Director of Culinary. Bringing more than 17 years of culinary leadership experience across luxury hotels, resorts and renowned dining destinations, Tucker will oversee the resort’s culinary operations across its dining outlets, including Litchfield’s, Red Allen’s Bar & Grill, and Wigwam Bar, while helping shape its culinary vision.
Tucker’s career spans leadership roles with Hyatt Hotels, Accor and Marriott International, including positions at The Ritz-Carlton Buckhead and The St. Regis Atlanta. His background includes Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond outlets, along with luxury properties home to Michelin-recognized dining. Across these roles, he has overseen multi-outlet resort operations and led concept and menu development, high-touch events, galas, buyouts and culinary activations.
In his new role, Tucker will bring a creative, place-driven approach to The Wigwam’s culinary program, drawing inspiration from travel, architecture, art, fashion, music, history and the natural environment. His vision centers on exploring Arizona through its landscape, agriculture, ingredients, artisans and producers, with a focus on creating thoughtful experiences that feel contemporary while remaining connected to the region.
Tucker’s appointment comes at an exciting time for The Wigwam’s culinary program, following the recent reopening of Litchfield’s, the resort’s signature restaurant, after a multi-million-dollar transformation. The refreshed dining destination features a reimagined bar and lounge, updated indoor and outdoor spaces and an elevated food and beverage experience rooted in the restaurant’s longstanding Southwestern character.
