COLUMBIA, Md., Sept. 19 / MICROS Systems, Inc. MCRS, a leading provider of information technology services to the hospitality industry, has signed a contract to provide new restaurant management software to the Pittsburgh-based Eat'n Park family restaurant chain. MICROS will provide its 3700 Point-of-Sale (POS) System at all of Eat'n Park's 75-plus locations throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia. In addition, Eat'n Park will utilize MICROS Enterprise Management Software to poll stores and manage databases from company headquarters.

The MICROS 3700 POS System is Windows(R)-based and offers enterprise-wide system integration capability and overall flexibility for store management. The system's graphical interface features a full-color touch screen and customizable options such as "screen designer," which can help reduce server training time and improve productivity. The in-store and headquarters reporting capabilities with added controls provides a comprehensive solution for chain store operators.

Jim Welsh, Vice President of Information Services for Eat'n Park, stated, "Our extensive pilot testing in four store locations has proven that the MICROS 3700 POS System is the right one for Eat'n Park. The advanced touch screen technology reduces training time, improves order accuracy and streamlines service. We are also excited about the Enterprise Management module, which will give us centralized control for menu and price changes. We look forward to rolling out the 3700 POS System to all of our locations."

Alan Hayman, Senior Vice President of Major Accounts for MICROS, explained that product reliability was another important reason that Eat'n Park chose software from MICROS. "Most Eat'n Park restaurants are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The company needed to be sure they were choosing a system that could handle this level of volume and constant use. In addition, the MICROS POS worked well with Eat'n Park's existing back office system," Hayman said. "MICROS has an excellent record of product reliability and customer service, and the 3700 POS System performed very well at all four pilot locations. We are confident that this system will meet their needs both now and as they grow."
