Culinary Software Services

BOULDER, Colo.- Culinary Software Services has released Version 6 of its award winning ChefTec software. Version 6 is a comprehensive software upgrade bringing many additions to ease the workload of chefs and foodservice operators.

The enhancements and new features in the recipe and menu costing area make it even easier to organize and develop recipes and menus. A powerful new search capability has been added which allows the use of multiple search criteria. This feature was developed in response to customers requiring sophisticated ways of searching thousands of recipes in the process of menu planning and development. Two other features, which considerably speed up the data entry of recipes, are the use of "Memory Lists" and the automatic calculation of a recipe yield. Menus using multiple recipes can be set up at the touch of a button.

Another major feature in ChefTec Version 6 is the ability to enter and maintain HACCP (Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Points) information for inventory items. Critical HACCP details can then be automatically printed on recipes for use in the kitchen. With this capability, ChefTec will become an important tool in food safety, quality and training programs in foodservice operations. As well, sound can now be added to recipes.

Enhanced and additional inventory control reports have been added. A customer can just enter food sales for a specific period and the overall percentage food cost for the operation will be calculated instantly. Bar code labels can be generated and printed for all inventory items as well.

"The features in Version 6 advance the ChefTec programs exponentially. It is our aim to lessen the time chefs or foodservice operators spend in the back office, and to spend more time in the kitchen. Version 6 makes it even easier for users to manage their inventory, costs, purchases and orders." said Brian Bennett, President of Culinary Software Services.
