MICROS Introduces Workstation 4, Unique New Microsoft Windows CE .NET-Based Point-of-Sale System for the Hospitality Industry
New Product Offers Inexpensive Alternative to Traditional PC-Based Clients

COLUMBIA, Md., MICROS Systems, Inc.
Built on the robust Microsoft Windows CE .NET platform, the MICROS WS4 is capable of stand-alone operations running the industry's leading point-of-sale (POS) software: MICROS 3700 and 9700 POS. The open system design allows inter-operability with Windows compatible applications and POS peripherals. The WS4 ships with client management software to promote easy loading, upgrading, and remote management of software applications. This allows a restaurant to expand its POS systems by simply plugging the hardware into the network and answering a few simple questions.
As with all MICROS hardware, WS4 features a handsome yet rugged design to withstand the challenging hospitality environment. Its stable design requires no fan or hard drive, offering ease of operation in any environment and lower anticipated maintenance costs. The WS4 is perfect for "depot" maintenance programs, offering a personality module to make workstation replacement fast and easy. Simply pop the personality module out of the non-functioning unit, insert it into a new unit, and plug it in – no programming or loading of software is required, and the new unit is immediately fully operational.
