Shangri-La Asia Limited, Asia Pacific’s leading luxury hotel company, has signed an agreement with the Al Jaber Group to manage Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi, opening in third quarter of 2009. The hotel will be the group’s second hotel in Abu Dhabi following the opening of Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi in August 2007.

This will be the second Traders Hotel in the UAE and the third management agreement between Shangri-La and the Al Jaber Group following those of Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai and Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi.

The Qaryat Al Beri complex, which offers a wide variety of dining, retail and recreation, is 10 minutes from Abu Dhabi international airport, 15 minutes from the city centre, and five minutes’ drive from the Abu Dhabi Golf Club and Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

The architectural design of the hotel by KEO International Consultants is conceived with the business traveller in mind, in keeping with Traders Hotels’ mission to offer an efficient range of facilities, and swift and friendly service, at competitive rates.

Traders Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi will feature 301 guest rooms and suites, ranging from 32 square metres for a Superior room to 70 square metres for a Deluxe Suite.

The Traders Club executive floor will feature a private lounge with complimentary refreshments and dedicated concierge service. The hotel will also feature two conference spaces for small to medium-size meetings.

Hotel dining choices will include an all-day-dining restaurant serving international cuisine, a lobby lounge and a pool bar.

Guests will be able to enjoy all restaurants and recreational facilities within the complex, accessible by club car or a short abra (Arabic gondola) ride on the waterway. These include an authentic Arabic souk (market), with informal waterfront dining and boutique shopping; CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La; a health club; outdoor swimming pools; children’s play area; and restaurants featuring Chinese, Vietnamese, French and international cuisines.
