A Mandarin-language version of the popular Hotel Valuation Software has been released by the Cornell Center for Hospitality Research (CHR), in conjunction with the Cornell Center for Real Estate and Finance (CREF). Available at no charge, the Hospitality Valuation Software is the number-one item on the CHR's website with more than 7,000 user downloads. The new version of the Hotel Valuation Software is available on the CHR site at www.hotelschool.cornell.edu/research/chr/pubs/tools/hvsmandarin.html.

The Hotel Valuation Software was originally launched as a CHR tool in 2005 by Jan deRoos, the HVS Professor of Hotel Finance and Real Estate and the academic director of CREF, and Steve Rushmore, hotel valuation pioneer and founder of HVS, the global hospitality consulting firm. Since then, it has been updated twice with enhanced analytical capabilities and functionality. This is the first time the tool has been available in a language other than English.

"China is a key emerging market in hospitality real estate and development, and the Hotel Valuation Software will give owners, investors, and lenders an accurate and consistent way to forecast occupancy, revenues, and expenses and to perform hotel valuations. We are delighted to make the software available in Mandarin and expand the audience for this important tool," said deRoos.

The release of the new tool coincides with the Cornell International Summit: Hospitality, Real Estate, and the Built Environment, which will be held Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund and is co-presented by the Cornell School of Hotel Administration, College of Architecture, Art, and Planning, and Center for Real Estate and Finance.
