Emil Iskandar re-joins HVS Capital Corp as a Vice President responsible for the origination, structuring, and placement of debt and equity capital transactions. Prior to re-joining the firm, Emil covered various facets of commercial, residential, lodging and leisure properties, and worked with investors ranging from large, multinational institutions to family offices. He started with the predecessor of HVS Capital Corp, the Denver-office of Sonnenblick Goldman Company, in 2000; He began his real estate career with Jones Lang Wootton Asia-Pacific, and later joined CB Richard Ellis where he was responsible for market research and analysis.

Emil holds a Bachelor's degree in architecture from Parahyangan University, Indonesia, a Master's degree in business administration from the Daniels College of Business, University of Denver, and completed post-graduate courses in real estate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Miles Cortez III joins HVS Capital Corp as a Vice President responsible for the origination, structuring and placement of asset sales, debt and equity placements and development advisory services. Miles is the co-founder of Aventine Capital Partners LLC, which developed hotels and resort-residential real estate for client companies such as Fairmont Raffles Hotels International, Viceroy Hotels (The Kor Group), The Four Seasons and Rosewood Hotels and Resorts. He also served as an in-house advisor to an Aventine client company, Apartment Investment and Management Company (NYSE:AIV).

Prior to Aventine, Miles helped start a variety of companies while he was an Associate at San Vicente Group, a $50 million dollar venture capital fund in Los Angeles. During his tenure at San Vicente Group, he was primarily involved with sourcing investment opportunities, performing due diligence, and structuring venture capital investments. Miles has been a guest speaker at the Knapp International Venture Forum at UCLA. Earlier in his career, he worked in the asset management business for Resnick Investments in Los Angeles. He received his MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA and a B.A. from Trinity University.
