Arturo Garcia Rosa, president of the South American Hotel & Tourism Investment Conference (SAHIC) proudly announces the impressive line-up of CEOs who will be sharing the stage during the Conference's featured CEO panel discussion.

David Berg , Chief Executive Officer, Carlson Hospitality Group. Berg leads the Carlson corporate center and its function and also leads and manages the global hotel business with the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group global executive team reporting to him. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Miller Retailing Center at the University of Florida and the Rezidor Hotel Group. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Emory University and a law degree, with honors, from the University of Florida College of Law.

  • Jorge Giannattasio, Senior Vice president and Chief of Latin America, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. Giannattasio is responsible for leading Starwood's operation in Latin America and the Caribbean. Currently, the company operates in 18 countries with a portfolio of almost 100 hotels spanning eight brands and a solid pipeline with more than 20 hotels in development. He joined Starwood in May 2004 as Vice President of Finance for Latin America. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Finance for the Americas (Latin America and North America).
  • Laurent de Kousemaeker, Chief Development Officer of the Caribbean & Latin America Region, Marriott International. With 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, he leads the hotel development team for all the brands for the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, and South America. He joined Marriott in 2005 and has been overseeing 12 lodging brands since.
  • Patrick Mendes, Chief Executive Officer South America, Accor Hotels. Accor Hotels offer the largest and most complete range of accommodation in South America, where the company operates under the international brands Sofitel, MGallery, Pullman, Grand Mercure, Novotel, Mercure, Adagio, Ibis, Ibis styles and Ibis budget. He is responsible for managing operations of the luxury and midscale brands.
  • Ted Middleton, Senior Vice President of Development The Americas, Hilton Worldwide. His responsibilities include overseeing the managed and franchised development of Hilton's family of brands in Latin America and the Caribbean. He also assists Hilton Grand Vacations Company with timeshare development.
  • Paulo Pena, President and Managing Director for Latin America & Caribbean, Wyndham Hotels Group. Pena is responsible for leading the company's development efforts in Latin America, as well as providing operational, marketing, revenue management and sales services to the company's franchisees and robust network of multi-unit development partners. Most recently, he served as vice president, global partnerships, responsible for developing, negotiating and executing cross-functional strategic alliances and partnerships.
