Pittsford, N.Y. – Indus Hospitality Group today announced the opening of the brand new, four-story, 77-room Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham on Elm Street in Penn Yan, N.Y. Situated just a few minutes' drive from scenic Keuka lake, the all new construction hotel offers 18 spacious suites with separate kitchenettes and living areas as well as a host of other amenities including an indoor pool, guest laundry, complimentary breakfast, fitness center as well as meeting space.

The opening comes on the heels of a recently completed $1.3 million upgrade and renovation of Indus's 94-room Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham in Victor, N.Y., located at the intersection of Fishers Road and Route 96. The renovation aligns the property with Microtel's newest Generation 5 prototype, which was also used in the construction of the Penn Yan property.

"Over the years, the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham brand has earned a strong reputation for consistency, quality, and value among discerning travelers," said Aly El-Bassuni, brand leader and vice president of operations for Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham. "Jett Mehta and the team at Indus have been essential in helping the brand to build that reputation and it's because of owners like them — who believe in the brand and are willing to invest — that Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham continues to grow and be successful."

Two of Indus's Microtel properties were recently awarded the 2015 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence based on stellar reviews from customers. This includes the hotel at 3258 Chili Ave. in Rochester, N.Y., which has earned the honor for three consecutive years, and the property at 550 Hamilton Street in Geneva, N.Y., which has earned the award for five consecutive years, placing it in the TripAdvisor Hall of Fame.

"We are committed to an optimal guest experience at each of our properties and our staff continually delivers on that promise," Mehta said. "Indus is fortunate to be embraced by the communities we serve and we are proud to be a part of our region's exceptional hospitality industry."

The next new hotel for Indus will be an 80-room Hampton Inn on Panorama Trail in Penfield. Five floors of this six-story mixed-use hotel and office building will be occupied by the hotel with the top floor dedicated to business use, to be occupied by the Indus Hospitality Group corporate offices. Foundation work has begun on the Penfield site and completion is set for summer 2016.

Pittsford-based Indus is one of the largest licensees in the Microtel system of more than 325 hotels, which was founded in Rochester and is today based in New Jersey as part of the Wyndham Hotel Group. The president of family-owned Indus, Jett Mehta, has served on Microtel's Franchise Advisory Committee since 2004 and Indus has twice earned the Microtel Inn & Suites Franchisee of the Year Award.
