MCLEAN, Va. -- With the New Year on the horizon, Hilton Garden Inn is wrapping up 2017 with gusto. The award-winning, upscale brand from Hilton (NYSE: HLT) will end 2017 with more than 750 hotels worldwide, with properties in 35 countries and territories. Six of those openings, in four countries, have occurred in the past month, including: Hilton Garden Inn Newtown Square Radnor, Hilton Garden Inn Boulder, Hilton Garden Inn Edmond/Oklahoma City North, Hilton Garden Inn Kuala Lumpur Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman North in Malaysia, Hilton Garden Inn Aguascalientes in Mexico, and Hilton Garden Inn Lucknow in India. Including the aforementioned hotels, the brand averaged nearly one opening per week in 2017, with about one-third of these properties opening in international markets.

"We are proud to have welcomed so many beautiful new hotels to our global portfolio this year," said John Greenleaf, global head, Hilton Garden Inn. "These properties offer both business and leisure guests upscale yet affordable accommodations, while also providing best-in-class offerings for a brighter and more comfortable stay."

Hilton Garden Inn saw its strongest growth for the year in the Southern United States, with Texas and North Carolina accounting for eight openings collectively. The brand also debuted new properties in two of Manhattan's most sought-after locations: Hilton Garden Inn New York Times Square South and Hilton Garden Inn NYC Financial Center/Manhattan Downtown.

Internationally, Hilton Garden Inn opened several new properties across key regions including Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe. A highlight was the debut of Hilton Garden Inn Manchester Emirates Old Trafford, the brand's first property in Manchester, located on-site at the renowned Emirates Old Trafford venue, which is home to Lancashire County Cricket Club.

Other noteworthy international openings from the past year included:

China: Hilton Garden Inn Shanghai Hongqiao

Malaysia: Hilton Garden Inn Kuala Lumpur Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman

Mexico: Hilton Garden Inn Merida

Russia: Hilton Garden Inn Moscow Krasnoselskaya

Singapore: Hilton Garden Inn Singapore Serangoon

The year's strong growth arrived as the brand unveiled a comprehensive refresh designed to cater to the evolving needs of today's modern traveler. The brand continues to amplify and focus on what's great about Hilton Garden Inn - the upscale, light and airy properties; award-winning food and beverage offerings; and exceptional Team Members.

Highlights of the brand's refresh feature enhanced menus to address consumers' changing dining preferences. This includes healthier and more on-trend choices such as small plates, hummus with veggies and flatbreads along with premium varietal wines, local craft beers and handcrafted cocktails*.
