ibis MUSIC set the mood at the Sziget festival

The 2019 edition of the Sziget Festival took place from August 7 to 13! The 9 finalists of the contest organised as part of the ibis MUSIC programme were thus able to perform on the Europe Stage, the festival stage sponsored by the brand. The ibis MUSIC program

marks a new stage in the transformation of this brand that's chosen to make music its passion. Last July, ibis MUSIC had the opportunity to perform on the "Terrasse ibis MUSIC" during 16 days at the Montreux Jazz Festival. Therefore, it was during the final of its international competition that the brand participated in the Sziget Festival inBudapest from 7 to 13 August 2019! The objective? To support upcoming talents and share his passion for music with festivalgoers.

A vibrant experience

The ibis MUSIC program consists of a music-themed 360 marketing campaign that began with the launch of an international competition to support up-and-coming talent. It started with a contest made up of 44 live concerts in ibis hotels in 17 countries. The brand's establishments willingly went along with this exercise to allow their guests a different musical experience and offer up-and-coming artists a stage to match their talent. 9 artists were selected by a jury at the end of the concerts in the ibis hotels to perform at the Sziget Festival. The winner will be announced following public votes on on September 30. At the stake? A day's mentoring given by Sony Music UK.

The Sziget Festival is one of the world's biggest festivals. This year, it took place from 7 to 13 August on the island of Sziget in Budapest (Hungary) and hosted internationally renowned artists such as Ed Sheeran, Post Malone, Macklemore or Florence and the Machine... The Europe Stage, sponsored by ibis, was dedicated throughout the festival to musical discovery. ibis offered to the finalists of the ibis MUSIC competition: Naë (France), Nxdia (UK), Gilsons (Brazil), Moglii (Germany), Maria Yfeu (Spain), Qaayel (Morocco), MVNSI (Belgium), So Flow (Poland), and Glass Cristina (Mexico), the opportunity to perform on one of the most beautiful stages of the festival.

A social hub for everyone to hang out!

In addition to the ibis MUSIC stage, the brand has also set up the ibis Open studio at the heart of the festival, a real space for meetings and musical experiences. This place, open to all and directly inspired by the new ibis designs, offered festival-goers the opportunity to discover many activities and participate in a photo competition on social media - on the theme of the recording studio - to gave them the chance to win a night of ultimate comfort at The Loft.

The ibis Mash Machine, meanwhile, gave participants the chance to create and record their own tracks. And that's not all… Different musical games were also run throughout the week, aimed at bringing music fans together for a fun and friendly time. In an ibis Music-themed setting, designed for socializing, guests could sip on chilled drinks in an original F&B concept, inspired by the ibis catering concept: Charlie's Corner.
