A Global Hotel Alliance loyalty programme, Pan Pacific DISCOVERY embraces greater flexibility and introduces industry’s first digital rewards currency, along with greater member recognition, and Live Local offers to 11 million DISCOVERY members globally.

Pan Pacific Hotels Group is redefining the loyalty game with the revamped Pan Pacific DISCOVERY, as part of Global Hotel Alliance’s (GHA) reimagination of DISCOVERY loyalty programme. With this elevation, members of Pan Pacific DISCOVERY can now savour more benefits with a new easy-to-use digital rewards currency, DISCOVERY Dollars (D$); enjoy additional discounts on room rates, dining experiences and more; move up with faster tier progression; as well as earn and spend D$ on premium hotel amenities and experiences, including all Pan Pacific Hotels Group-owned dining outlets across its global portfolio.

The overhaul of Pan Pacific DISCOVERY marks a significant shift from the previous programme, which provided member recognition based on stays and accumulated room nights.

Ms Cinn Tan, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, Pan Pacific Hotels Group, said, "The new Pan Pacific DISCOVERY is built around the evolving expectations of our customers, who told us that they would like a rewards-based loyalty programme. With the new Pan Pacific DISCOVERY, our members can now earn and spend DISCOVERY Dollars on rooms, dining, spa, fitness, and Live Local offerings in our hotels. With enhanced benefits and faster tier progression, we look forward to rewarding our loyal members in our growing global portfolio across the world.”

Despite the pandemic, Pan Pacific DISCOVERY’s membership base has seen healthy growth across 2019 to 2021. Specifically, Pan Pacific DISCOVERY’s Singapore membership base rose by almost 60% during this period, with room reservations made by Singapore members up by 161% in 2020-2021, fuelled largely by domestic staycations at our Singapore portfolio of eight hotels and serviced suites while the skies were closed.

A study revealed that travellers are asking to be rewarded instantly and fairly, not just for room nights but also for spending during the hospitality experience. To meet this, Pan Pacific DISCOVERY rolls out new rewards currency DISCOVERY Dollars, or D$. At check-out, D$ earned on previous stays can be used towards the hotel room, room upgrades, dining, spa treatments, and more. The percentage earned on eligible spend increases with membership tier status, starting at 4% and rising to 7%.

Pan Pacific DISCOVERY now offers an expanded four tiers of membership: Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Titanium. New members achieve Silver status upon joining the programme and are entitled to benefits from their first stay. Tier progression can be achieved more easily and faster through three ways: number of stays, spend across eligible purchases, and number of GHA hotel brands stayed in. Additionally, Titanium members can now benefit from status sharing, with the option to gift their tier to a friend or family member each year. All members are eligible for additional room rate savings of 10% or more.

New Live Local offerings for indulgences close to home

With the gradual rate of travel recovery continuing to hold domestic demand in significance, Pan Pacific DISCOVERY has also rolled out Live Local offerings, a collection of events, activities, amenities and promotions available on property that members can enjoy – even without a stay.

Under Live Local, members can access Stay Offers for well-deserved breaks. Soon, Pan Pacific Hotels Group will roll out Local Offers for indulgences without a stay, such as access to the beach and/or pool, fitness facilities, St Gregory spa, and special dining deals; plus Experiences, bespoke member-only activities that immerse them in their local culture or community, from tours and classes to events and more.

With this, members can continue to enjoy the premium and sincere service of Pan Pacific Hotels Group, and at the same time, accumulate D$ earnings in preparation for their next overseas trip or staycation. With continuous enhancements, Pan Pacific DISCOVERY will progressively bring more Live Local offers on board for members to enjoy at the Group’s global portfolio of hotels, resorts and serviced suites, with or without a stay.

The Live Local programme poses a boon to consumers who are currently holding back on travel plans and opting for local indulgences. When mainstream travel resumes, Pan Pacific DISCOVERY members will have access to member benefits in GHA’s global network of more than 500 hotels in 85 countries, including top destinations such as Thailand, Germany, USA and New Zealand. Members are able to enjoy exclusive access to special Room Offers at participating properties around the world, and explore a variety of curated benefits, personalised services, Live Local activities and Experiences that do not require a stay.

To celebrate the launch of the upgraded Pan Pacific DISCOVERY, new and existing DISCOVERY Loyalty members can enjoy a host of promotions to come in December 2021 and beyond. Pan Pacific DISCOVERY is complimentary to join, and guests can sign up online or download the Pan Pacific DISCOVERY app.
