MINNEAPOLIS | SoftBrands Inc. (AMEX: SBN), a global supplier of enterprise application software, today announced the endorsement of SoftBrands’ Medallion property management system (PMS) as a result of the successful certification of the Medallion Best Western Two-Way Interface. As an endorsed property management system, Medallion is approved by Best Western International for potential selection in more than 2,400 North American hotels.

The Two-Way PMS to CRS interface will make it possible to book or update guest reservations through multiple channels including the Best Western central reservation office, online or through an individual property using real-time hotel availability data for Best Western member properties. Providing single point of entry for availability, rate and reservation requirement management from the PMS, the Best Western member properties will benefit from streamlined maintenance of the Best Western CRS and multiple distribution channels. The Two-Way interface will provide a much improved flow of information enabling Best Western member properties to sell far more effectively, offer better guest service and give guests greater control over their reservations.

"Best Western is dedicated to providing our hotels with products that add value to their operation by complying with our thorough guidelines as established in the certification process," said Denise Heinrichs, Director, Property Systems Services, Best Western International. "We are confident of our endorsement of SoftBrands’ Medallion PMS and that it will provide our member properties with the tools necessary to streamline their operations and enhance the guest experience.”

“SoftBrands is extremely pleased to be endorsed by Best Western International with a certified Two-Way interface to Best Western’s Central Reservation System. Because of our reputation in providing exceptional support and service around the globe, we have already developed a solid pipeline of Best Western properties awaiting our certification. We are excited to now be in a position to officially move forward with Best Western and their certification. We are confident this will be a long and mutually successful partnership,” said Jo Masters, Vice President and General Manager of SoftBrands hospitality, Americas.
