The Knowland Group, a leading provider of business development solutions for the hospitality industry, recently opened a new location for their Event Booking Center. The new call center in Salisbury, Md. is more than five times larger than the current space, seating 250. The move was prompted by increased demand for all of Knowland's products and services, but especially the recently launched Professional Business Development (PBD) service.

"This new location fulfills a vital need for additional space to support current and future growth," said Knowland CEO Michael K. McKean. "As demand for the PBD service and other Knowland business development solutions continue to increase, we will have the room to expand quickly and efficiently."

The launch of Knowland's PBD offerings earlier this year has been met with great excitement by hoteliers struggling to grow their business amidst a weak economy and dwindling sales staffs. Drawing on many years of assisting hotels with proactive sales, Knowland has developed a simple yet extremely effective four-step process of business development. Hotels of any size and type can benefit from this proven method through Knowland's PBD service.

Every member of the PBD team goes through rigorous training on Knowland's process of business development and how to implement it successfully for any hotel. They each have experience interacting with meeting planners, having carried out detailed contact research and event follow up for the more than 3,000 hotels who subscribe to Knowland's Readers. Best of all, they are armed with all of Knowland's innovative business development products, including Insight, a massive leads database, and Target Net, a revolutionary sales force automation and meetings management tool.

The new location not only includes more room for Knowland's growing PBD team, but also training facilities for Knowland University and more space for departments such as Sales and Client Care. Knowland is currently hiring for many positions within these departments, including Client Care Technicians, QA Representatives, and Sales Appointment Setters. The facility's new general manager, Larry Sterling, comes to Knowland with multiple years of experience managing call center operations, including experience running locations in excess of 1,000 employees engaged in proactive business development activities.

"I am very excited about the opportunity to work for such a innovative company in the global hospitality industry," said Sterling. "My experience managing call centers that offer proactive outbound sales and marketing services will be put to great use."
