Hugo TORO is a French-Mexican artist, architect and interior designer from the east of France. He holds a master's degree in interior design from the Penninghen School in Paris and a second master's degree in architecture from Vienna and Los Angeles. At just 35, this hyperactive and versatile designer already has a number of prestigious projects to his name. These include a private mansion in Paris, the Villa Albertine studio in New York, the Michelin-starred PUR' restaurant on Place Vendôme in Paris, Marlow in the Mareterra district of Monaco, hotels such as Le Mas Candille in Mougins and the Hôtel la Minerva in Rome, the first Orient Express hotel. Hugo Toro has had a passion for construction and design since childhood, and his attention to detail is evident in the meticulously crafted cabins he created as a child. His references range from Europe to South America. Art Deco plays a key role in his inspiration, as does the architecture of Otto Wagner and Luis Barragán's approach to colour and texture. In addition to his architectural work, Hugo Toro is also interested in drawing and has created his first collection of art furniture, which will be presented at Christie's in mid-May 2022. In February 2025, at the instigation of Her Excellency Ambassador Blanca Jiménez Cisneros, he presented his first exhibition of large-scale paintings, 'Aguas que murmuran', at the Institut Culturel du Mexique in Paris, marking a new stage in his creative career. Today, at the head of his own studio, which employs around twenty people, he designs for a wide range of projects around the world: restaurants in Paris, Miami and Seoul, a hotel in New York and residences in Sologne, Ibiza and Marrakech.
