This week's Member Spotlight centers on 1980-81 Global President and 1990 International Hospitality Technology Hall of Fame inductee Sal Spano, CHA, CHAE of West Palm Beach, Florida, who has been a member of HFTP since 1968.
How long have you worked in the hospitality industry?
As a young controller, I had the privilege of being associated with the original Diplomat organization in Hollywood, Florida for 12 years. Diplomat was founded by a visionary—Samuel Friedland was the man who invented the supermarket by combining the grocery store together with the butcher shop. This created the Food Fair group, and the rest was history.
