Alastair Thomann was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Generator group in May 2017. He was previously the Global Managing Director of global hotel brand Pentahotels. Alastair began his career as a lift-boy at the illustrious Four Seasons hotel in Hamburg, Germany.

After a management traineeship at the Radisson Edwardian, he worked for five years at world-leading financial consultancy firm, Arthur Anderson, as leading consultant.

In 2002 Alastair moved to the German-based Hospitality Company Hotelbesitz GmbH, where he was promoted to Director of Operations, before working for Pentahotels, where he became European Vice President of Operations, swiftly moving up the ranks to Global Managing Director.
