Dr. Andreea Antonescu is a professor and researcher in tourism and hospitality with over 15 years of international experience in Switzerland, France, China, and Romania. She holds a PhD in Tourism Studies from the University of Lausanne, where she explored the global dynamics of tourist destinations.
Her research interests include authenticity in tourism and hospitality, sustainable and regenerative tourism, customer experience, cultural diversity, leadership, and the transformation of tourism practices in response to ecological and societal change.
At Les Roches, she teaches at postgraduate and undergraduate level in areas including leadership, personal development, corporate social responsibility, tourism, and research methods. Her work combines academic research with applied relevance and takes an interdisciplinary, human-centered approach to hospitality and tourism.
She is particularly interested in how service encounters, human skills, empathy, emotional intelligence, and authenticity shape customer and employee experiences, and in the role of education in preparing hospitality and tourism professionals for a rapidly changing industry.
