Nick Nguyen is a doctoral student in the Global Hospitality Leadership (DGHL) program at the Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership at the University of Houston. He brings more than a decade of law enforcement experience and currently serves as a sergeant in an investigative leadership role, overseeing complex investigations and operational matters. Mr. Nguyen also served in the U.S. Army as an executive officer in the Quartermaster Branch, where he developed a strong foundation in logistics, accountability, and operational management. In addition to his military and law enforcement background, he grew up working in his family's restaurant business, where he gained early exposure to hospitality operations, customer service, and the realities of running a business that serves the public. These combined experiences shaped his interest in hospitality from both an operational and risk-management perspective. His current research focuses on human trafficking, compliance, and public safety within hospitality environments, with an emphasis on awareness, accountability, and strengthening operational response.
