APLEND originated as a merger of individually operating entities in the Tatras region in order to extend the offer to
their customers and build a network of facilities of comparable quality in attractive tourist regions of Slovakia and
Central and Eastern Europe. Entities forming APLEND have operated in tourism businesses in Slovakia for 15 years
by organizing trips of a travel agency and in the last 7 years also by running their own accommodation and catering
facilities. Despite the prevailing economic crisis, the operations of the network APLEND have not only maintained
but also further improved their performance – they expanded, attracted more customers, while maintaining the
sales prices.
