Having served international tourism as a consultant, strategist, researcher and independent thinker for over 50 years, our work focuses on assisting this sector make the shift from extracting value to enabling communities to flourish in the fullest sense of the term. The growing awareness that humans are nature and need to harmonise with nature's rules requires a deeper understanding of regenerative principles and practices. Our moniker Conscious.Travel reflects a belief that the tourism and hospitality sector must wake up to the fact that it cannot continue to grow exponentially on a finite planet; grow up by taking full responsibility for ensuring that nature and people flourish in the destinations they serve; and step up by fulfilling its core role as caring, hosts, connectors, convenors and custodians. To that end we have created six module, online course "Back to Life" that introduces regenerative principles and practices to business enterprises in destinations; written several hundred blogs posts and spoken at numerous conferences. We are now focusing on the nexus of hospitality, farming and food through a "Hosts for Life" program that links hospitality with regenerative farming and conservation activities.
