Mike Kennedy is responsible for overseeing the company's Hotel Information Technology department.

A veteran with 20 years' experience in the lodging industry, Kennedy comes to Cendant from Purchasepro.com of Las Vegas, where he had been Chief Technology Officer & Senior Vice President since 2000, directing all aspects of technology planning and operations.

He began his career in 1982 with Holiday Inn Worldwide in Atlanta as manager, operations management systems, and worked his way up to vice president, Holiday Inn Worldwide information technology, in 1993. During his tenure, he received the company's highest award, the Chairman's Award, in the area of expert skill. He also initiated, developed and implemented the industry's first fully integrated yield management system for hotels, the Holiday Inn Revenue Optimizer.

In 1994, he moved to Intrawest Resorts in Vancouver, British Columbia, where he served as vice president, information technology, until 1996. From 1996 to 1997, he worked for Best Western International in Phoenix as vice president & chief information officer, becoming chief information officer & vice president worldwide in 1997. From 1997 to 2000, he was chief information officer & senior vice president of Starwood Hotels and Resorts in White Plains, N.Y.

Kennedy earned his bachelor's degree in engineering from Memphis State University, Memphis, Tenn., in 1980 and his master's degree in telecommunications and information systems from Christian Brothers University, Memphis, in 1989.
