Hotel Interactive Survey Reveals What's Most Important to Business Travelers On the Road: Voice Mail, Internet Access Top Coffee
Hospitality Industry Authority Polls Hotels On Most Requested In-Room Amenities
NEW YORK -- Hotel Interactive (
According to the survey, the top five amenities that business travelers seek are: voicemail, Internet access, coffee makers, adequate workspace and good lighting, in that order. Secondary preferences include two-line phones, ironing boards, business center facilities, cordless phones and meeting space. Coffee makers are the number one requested amenity for business travelers in the Pacific and Mountain regions, while the mid-Atlantic region ranked Internet access first. Findings were based on responses from over 200 general managers at hotels ranging from upscale chains such as Hilton and Marriott to the budget segment, including Red Roof Inns and Super 8's. One of Hotel Interactive's survey strategies is to poll general managers based on feedback they receive from guests on amenities, technology and service.
According to Toni Giovanetti, publisher of Hotel Interactive, "The responses show that business travelers use hotel rooms as offices. Even business travelers with mobile phones and calling cards now demand well-equipped, business-friendly hotel rooms."
