The Coppid Beech Hotel reaps promotion benefits of Quadriga's advanced graphics technology
After a highly successful test phase, the Coppid Beech Hotel has confirmed that it plans to extend Quadriga's High Level Graphics (HLG) interactive technology into 100 new guestrooms planned for 2001. Over 200 Coppid Beech Hotel rooms already benefit from Quadriga's interactive information and entertainment services and today's announcement is further testament to the value that is now attached to guest room technology services by the...
Customised guestroom infotainment recognised as key differentiator
An increase in guest use of the Coppid Beech Hotel's restaurant is just one of many benefits already derived from Quadriga's HLG system. Guest room promotion of the restaurant in the 205 rooms already equipped with Quadriga's interactive televisions has resulted in a reduction in the percentage of guests choosing to eat at local restaurants from 40% to 31%. The hotel believes that it can reduce this figure to under 25% with further exploitation of the system in the future.
These types of profit and branding opportunities coupled with competitive differentiators such as the system's multi-lingual capability, gave Quadriga a clear edge when a decision needed to be made for its new guest rooms.
Alan Blenkinsopp, General Manager at the Coppid Beech Hotel explains: "Access to customised information, entertainment and a growing number of other value added services in the hotel room is increasingly influencing hotel purchasing decisions. The independent sector is no exception.
"The advantage of Quadriga's enhanced graphics package is that we are able to provide these services through a technology friendly interface which is both visually appealing and easy to use. The system also provides us with a highly effective promotion tool as the success of our recent restaurant promotion in HLG test rooms clearly demonstrates."
Offers unique guestroom marketing opportunity not available before
The Coppid Beech Hotel, situated in the heart of Berkshire, offers guests a wide range of facilities including a swimming pool, dry ski slope, ice skating rink, health and fitness club, spa, solarium, steam room, bar, restaurant, and night-club. The implementation of Quadriga's high level graphics system presents the hotel with a unique opportunity to target customers with these services through a technology friendly interactive television interface in the guest room. The graphics design provides unparalleled resolution and quality. Images, logos and video footage incorporated within the system also eliminate the need for cumbersome paper based marketing.
Jon Freeman, Business Unit Manager of Quadriga UK, states: "Guestroom technology is fast becoming recognised by the hotel sector as a necessity rather than a luxury. We have already been working with Coppid Beech to satisfy its guests' changing expectations and are delighted that our partnership has been extended. Marketing tools such as our High Level Graphics system makes the TV screen a more attractive proposition visually and increases ease of use. As a result it aims to enable hotels like the Coppid Beech to maximise the profit generating opportunities in their hotel, such as movies, minibar and room service."
Quadriga's technology will also offer the Coppid Beech Hotel significant management benefits. The hotel will be supplied with up to the minute information including minibar stock control, room status, technical maintenance and billing.
