VIP International Makes Strategic Move into Asian Pacific Hotel Market With the Relocation of Anita Chan
Calgary, Alberta, Canada—VIP International Corporation, a proven business generator for hotels and car rental companies around the globe through the Internet and the Global Distribution Systems (GDSs), and wholly owned subsidiary of HARS Systems, Inc. (HSS: CDNX), announced a new strategic business direction with the move of Anita Chan, VP of Marketing and Client Productivity, to Hong Kong. With Ms.
Ms. Chan has more than 11 years of global distribution and Internet distribution marketing experience, including 5 years at the luxury brand for Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and 3 at the national Canadian brand, Delta Hotels & Resorts. She is actively involved with the Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association (HEDNA) and has a comprehensive knowledge of electronic distribution and marketing. Ms. Chan graduated from the University of Western Ontario Executive MBA program. Originally from Hong Kong, Ms. Chan is fluent in English and Cantonese.

According to Andersen, the global professional services firm, in their Andersen Hotel Industry Benchmark Survey, Asia Pacific hotels achieved double-digit yield growth for 2000. Of the four regions that Andersen monitors on a monthly basis, Asia Pacific was the best performing market with the strongest RevPAR growth of over nine per cent. Ten of the cities tracked in the survey recorded occupancies over 70 per cent, with Hong Kong leading the region at 82 per cent occupancy.
VIP International currently represents five hotel properties in the Asian Pacific region. They include Stanford Hillview Hotel and Stanford Hotel in Hong Kong; Kijima Korakuen in Oita, Japan; Sapporo Korakuen Hotel in Sapporo, Japan; and Empire Hotel Kowloon in Kowloon, Hong Kong.
