Ramada International

WASHINGTON - Ramada International Hotels & Resorts, a division of Marriott International MAR, announced the 230-room Sorat Hotel Basel Messeturm has been converted to the Ramada Plaza Basel. This is the first Ramada Plaza hotel, Ramada's upper tier lodging product, in Switzerland.

The hotel is owned by Fewotel S.A. and is operated by Treff Hotels through a franchise agreement with Ramada International.

Featuring a modern design, the Ramada Plaza Basel is housed in 14 floors of Switzerland's tallest building and is next to the city's Messe Schweiz Conference Center. It is five kilometers from EuroAirport.

For dining and entertainment, the hotel offers Filou, which serves regional delicacies and international cuisine. The restaurant's changing color lighting creates a vibrant atmosphere. For recreation, the hotel features a wellness area with a steam bath, sauna and solarium.

For business and social events, the Ramada Plaza Basel has 700-square-meters of banqueting and conference space.

The hotel maintains Ramada International's six pillars, which are: a restful sleep; an invigorating shower; well-trained staff; an exceptional level of cleanliness; the "Ramada Morning Breakfast" - a selection that is hot, delicious and easy; and a Spirit to Serve Our Communities, with community partnerships, family services, associate involvement and career opportunities.

Reservations can be made by calling any of Ramada International's reservation numbers, calling the hotel directly, through a travel agent or through Ramada International's web site .
