Hyatt Corp. Buying AmeriSuites in a Deal Reportedly Worth More Than $600 Million

CHICAGO (AP) -- The Pritzker family's Hyatt Corp. said Thursday it plans to buy the AmeriSuites hotel chain from The Blackstone Group Inc. in a deal reportedly worth more than $600 million. The deal will add midrange, affordable properties aimed at the coveted business and convention travelers to Hyatt's upscale hotels and resorts, said Thomas Pritzker, chairman and CEO of Hyatt Corp.
