HSMAI to Hold a Revenue Management Strategy Conference in Conjunction with HITEC 2005
Austin, Texas; The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) will hold its second annual Revenue Management Strategy Conference in conjunction with HITEC 2005. This program will summarize the issues and challenges that revenue and yield management professionals are facing, summarize the implications, and provide solutions and strategies from HSMAI's Revenue Management Advisory Board.
Austin, Texas; The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) will hold its second annual Revenue Management Strategy Conference in conjunction with HITEC 2005. This program will summarize the issues and challenges that revenue and yield management professionals are facing, summarize the implications, and provide solutions and strategies from HSMAI's Revenue Management Advisory Board. The conference will be held June 20 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, Calif.; while HITEC, the world's largest hospitality technology event of its kind, will run June 20-23.
"We've organized our Revenue Management Strategy Conference to coincide with HITEC to take advantage of the strong attendance that HITEC draws from those same disciplines that would benefit from also attending our strategy conference," said Robert A. Gilbert, CHME, CHA, president and CEO of HSMAI. "HITEC has become one of the hospitality industry events that can't be missed and our association with that conference has always resulted in success," Gilbert added.
The Revenue Management Strategy Conference's keynote will discuss, "Pricing as a Strategic Capability." The address will be given by Mark Bergen, Ph.D., professor at the Carlson School of Hospitality Management at the University of Minnesota. This will be followed by a panel discussion on "Top Revenue Management Resolutions for a Recovering Market."
The afternoon will continue with three different concurrent sessions including: a panel discussion on Integrating Revenue Technology Solutions With Internal Systems and Processes In The Real-World Hotel Management Environment; an educational presentation by Steve Swope from The Rubicon Group, along with an interactive activity on the topic of pricing; and a panel discussion on Pricing and Revenue Management Considerations for Electronic Distribution Channels.
Round table discussion will end the conference, with topics on: defining revenue management as a profession; value of automated systems; channel management; rate integrity; pricing and discounting; and using outside revenue management training companies.
The registration fee for HSMAI members is $195 ($245 after June 1) and $350 ($400 after June 1) for non-members. The non-member fee includes a one-year HSMAI membership. Registration is available online at the HSMAI web site at
