InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) (LSE:IHG) (NYSE:IHG) (ADRs), the world's largest hotel group by number of rooms, continues the expansion of its Holiday Inn brand in Latin America with the opening of a 105-room 11-story Holiday Inn Express in Puerto Montt, Chile, one of South America's most scenic southern cities on the Pacific Ocean.

Situated directly on the ocean in the heart of the city's shopping district, Mall Paseo Costanera, the Holiday Inn Express Puerto Montt, is the 29th hotel opening for the Holiday Inn brand in Latin America. It is also the seventh Holiday Inn Express property to open under a franchise agreement with Talbot S.A.

Puerto Montt, known for its rich natural beauty, has a population of over 110,000 that is mostly Chilean but have ancestry that came from Germany or Spain. Their influence can be seen through the city's beautiful architecture and exotic cuisine.
