- Jetwing Hotels, Sri Lanka, which has shown an enduring commitment to social and environmental practices since the group founded in the 1970s.
- National Geographic Traveler magazine’s ‘Index of Destination Stewardship’, which has over the last four years published a ‘Destination Scorecard’ for the following destinations: World Heritage Destinations (2006); North American National Parks (2005); Global Destinations (2004); and Island and Archipelagos (2007).
- Fairmont Mayakoba, Mayan Riviera, Mexico, which has partnered with a local tour operator in support of economic growth for local communities in the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve.
- New Zealand Tourism, which has turned to the Maori principle of ‘Kaitiakitanga’ (guardianship) as part of its New Zealand Tourism Strategy 2010.
