MCLEAN, VA | The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) will welcome more than 1,000 industry and agency professionals on Jan. 26, 2009 at the Marriott Marquis in New York City for the 19th annual Adrian Awards Gala. The gala will honor the top companies and individuals in hospitality, travel and tourism advertising, public relations and web marketing.

A multifaceted, black-tie networking event featuring award-winning work, lifetime achievement, and the “Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales & Marketing”, the Adrian Awards Gala will honor winners who are selected from a field of 1,300 entries by senior industry and media experts. Top entries will receive recognition in Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze categories, as well as the most desirable “Best of Show.”

“The Adrian Awards showcase the best-of-the-best in our industry,” said Robert A. Gilbert, CHME, CHA, president and CEO of HSMAI. “The evening will serve as a time to recognize our peers for their achievements and take a minute to celebrate past successes.”

Recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions and lasting impressions on the hospitality and travel industry, HSMAI will present Lifetime Achievement awards to Jonathan M. Tisch, Chairman and CEO of Loews Hotels, Office of the President, Loews Corporation, Co-Chairman of the Board, Loews Corporation, and Florence Quinn, President and Founder of Quinn & Co. Tisch will be recognized with the Albert E. Koehl Award for Advertising and Quinn will receive the Winthrop W. Grice Award for Public Relations.

Some new additions to the Adrian Awards line-up include Google’s Wisdom of the Crowd Award, which is awarded to an integrated marketing campaign that exemplifies the best brand impact and consumer appeal, and the Tourism Cares Sustainability Award, presented to an individual or organization that displays ongoing investment and recognizable progress in sustainability initiatives.

Again this year, DEPARTURES Magazine will present its Luxury Marketing Achievement Award, which honors award-winning print advertising campaigns produced for the luxury travel market, and TravelCLICK will pay tribute to the best integrated eMarketing program in the hotel industry with the eMarketer of the Year award.
